I just want to share how to lossless backup Blu-ray movie to HiMedia 900B retaining multi-track on Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks, so that you can free watch Blu-ray movie on TV via HiMedia 900B.

Although it supported Blu-rays natively, it’s still not a good idea to take out Blu-ray discs frequently due to scratch issues. Also, as I own a large collection of Blu-rays, I also built a home NAS with large storage, so the file size is not the case. Like I said, generally I just want a tool that can backup Blu-rays to MKV without quality loss on Mac. 

 

So I started to search online for an ideal tool. However, it’s rather disappointing that most ripping software simply compress my Blu-ray to MKV container format with codec like H.264, AVC, ect., the converted video is downsized which doesn’t work for me. How to lossless backup Blu-ray to MKV for HiMedia 900B and keep multi-track? 

Step 1. Launch Pavtube ByteCopy and load disc. 

Firstly you need an external blu-ray drive; there’s no special requirements of the drive model as long as it’s supported by your Mac. 

Click the top left icon and it will detect the inserted Blu-ray disc, click disc name to load them. 

 

Step 2. Choose lossless format. 

Click “Format” list and select “Multi-track Video>Lossless/encoded Multi-track MKV(*.mkv)” as below. 

 

Step 3. Adjust V/A settings. 

Click “Settings” to enter Multi-track video profile window; switch to “Video” and find the “Encode” box which is unchecked by default, so if you want a lossless MKV copy, do not touch it. 

 

The switch to “Audio”, check wanted audio track; so does the “Subtitles”. 

 

Step 4. Start backing up Blu-rays to MKV 

Click the big “Convert” to start the conversion. It takes about 40 mins for my Macbook to backup a Blu-ray disc, but the conversion speed also depends on your computer configuration. My suggestion is not to play or edit videos when it’s converting. After conversion, click “Open” or “Open output folder” to quick locate converted files. 

Ok now the lossless MKV files are prepared; transfer them to your hard drive and connect it to HiMedia, now you can enjoy Blu-ray movies on TV without quality loss!

After you download and install ChewTune, open it. As you can see, you can add files by clicking the “Add…” button and browse files from your computer. Batch conversion is supported to save time, so you can add multiple files at once. 

 

Step 2: Choose the output video format as MP4 

Android Tablet or Smartphone supports a large number of video formats, including H.263, H.264 AVC, MPEG-4, VP8, etc. Simply click “Common Video” from format bar and select a video format from the list as the export file format. MP4 is the most universal video format for any device.

If necessary, you can also click “Settings” to adjust output video parameters like size, quality, etc. You can set the video size to 1920*1080 to keep the full HD definition of the movie, and you can also set the bitrate from 2000k to 4000k to get a high video quality. 

Step 3. Start convert DRM-ed iTunes M4V movies to Android Tablet or Smartphone. 

At last, click “Convert” to let the program begin converting iTunes protected M4V videos to Android supported video formats. The conversion process will take some time. 

 

Just wait with a little patience and click “Open” to find the converted video clips quickly. Now connect an Android phone or tablet to the PC through a USB and embark ontransferring the iTunes movie files effortlessly.

The app’s new AirPlay support is limited to users who upgrade toAirSync, a $5 Android app that allows the DoubleTwist app to wirelessly sync with iTunes. AirSync requires a free counterpart desktop app, which is available for Macs and PCs alike. 

With the right apps installed on your Android phone, you can then use DoubleTwist to send music or video to any Apple TV on the same Wi-Fi network.

You can also access media on your computer like iTunes songs & playlists.4. AllShare 

 
If you have Samsung android phone like Galaxy S2, S3, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Exhibit etc or Samsung Tab etc, You can use inbuilt app AllShare or AllShare Play. Your android samsung phone or tablet comes preloaded with AllShare App. This is similar to AirPlay. 

With AllShare, You can stream videos, photos, music to other AllShare/DLNA compatible devices like TVs, computers, cameras etc. You can also access media on the other devices and play them on your android phone or tablet.

Android HiFi is a free android app. AirBubble is free but AirBubble License app costs $2 bucks. You can use these apps to make your android phone or tablet as AirPlay receiver. This is useful If you want to play songs in other room or outside etc. With iTunes Remote, You can control iTunes remotely without sitting near your computer.6. ZappoTV 

 

ZappoTV has android apps for AirPlay for Apple TV, WD TV Live, Samsung, Sony, LG TVs. These apps are not very popular but you can try them to see how they work for you.7. AirPlay and DLNA/uPnP Player 

 

This free application does exactly what it says. It’s a DLNA and uPnP player along with support for Apple TV. Once installed, you can use the application to send music, videos, or pictures from your iPhone/iPad/Mac via Apple’s AirPlay. Apart from that there’s uPnP functionality too that lets you connect to your PS3 or home media server. Though the app doesn’t do much apart from receiving media, it does, however, serve as a great medium to connect to your Android device. (Download here)8. Using Allcast 

 

There is another popular way to do this, too. Clockworkmod’s Allcast is a newer app than DoubleTwist, but it will do the same job. Again, so long as your Apple TV is on the same Wifi network as your Android device, Allcast will do the rest. 

You first choose your preferred streaming device, the specific Apple TV – or in Allcast’s case, other devices – you wish to broadcast to. From there all you need to do is choose the music or video you want to play on the big screen and you’re done. 

The biggest difference between Allcast and DoubleTwist is that Allcast doesn’t let you keep music playing in the background on your Apple TV while you navigate through other apps and menus. You also don’t get the album art or track information, just a blank screen with the music playing. If you hit back on the Apple TV remote, the track will stop playing. 

Allcast is a free download, but to remove ads and unlock the full featureset you’ll need to upgrade to the premium version.

Use DS video to stream your video collection on your DiskStation to your Amazon phone or tablet. Browsing is made easy as your videos are sorted in different libraries, and each movies has its information retrieved online automatically. And if you have plugged in a DTV dongle to your DiskStation, you will also be able to record TV programs, as well as view the TV program to manage the recording schedule even when on the move.10. AirStream 

 

AirStream allows you to send music and audio from your Android to any AirPlay-enabled receiver. As the Apple TV itself is an AirPlay-enabled receiver, this is a great way to get your audio from some of your favorite apps, including DoubleTwist, Spotify, Rdio, Google Play Music, and TuneIn, to your Apple TV. 

AirStream does have a few drawbacks, however. It only handles audio and it also does require you to root your phone. The app is also time-limited, so after you’ve used it for a while you’ll need to pay around £4.00 via in-app purchase to unlock it fully.
